Jess believes that she has been waiting for him, and they go out for dinner. Afterwards, they go back to her apartment where he meets her father, the famous actor Sebastian. Jess and Mimi talk about how they met, and Sebastian tells Jess that Mimi is not a virgin. Eventually, Sebastian agrees to go out with Jess, but Joan's son Parker gets there first and wants to go out with his mother. After a while of going back and forth between Jess and Joan's children, Joan arrives since she had been running late. She doesn't believe Sebastian is going out with Mimi when he says he just met her in the train station from New York City because she does not believe men would fall in love so easily.
